Meet Amy

My calling to become a doula came in 2013, two years after the birth of our first child. After fertility struggles, I was overjoyed to finally be pregnant and dove into books and a Hypnobirthing course. Through that class, we learned about doulas, something we had never heard of before, and decided it was the support we needed.

At 33 weeks, we learned our baby was experiencing complications and would need to be delivered early. During those difficult days, our doula was in constant contact, helping us sort through options, weigh risks and benefits, and find our voice in the hospital setting. Her support gave me confidence, helped us navigate decisions, and ultimately allowed me to have my birth, my way. That experience changed my life and career path forever.

In the years that followed, I kept hearing friends and family say “I wish I had…” or “I wish I knew…” about their births. I didn’t feel that way, and I wanted others to experience the same empowerment I did. I trained with DONA International in 2013 and have continued my education with Spinning Babies, Acupressure for Birth, Rebozo, and Hypnobirthing.

Since then, I’ve supported families through home births, birth center births, medicated and unmedicated hospital births, cesareans, and births at Children’s Hospital for medically fragile babies. I believe every birth is unique, and there is no wrong way to give birth, but you should always feel that you are giving birth, not that birth is being done to you. My motto is "go as natural as you can as long as you want" in order to fully experience the power of birth. As your doula, I will support your decisions and help you feel seen, informed, and empowered every step of the way.

Client stories

Amy was THE reason my birth went the way I wanted. She's knowledgeable, kind and supportive. I would not have another baby without her by my side. My husband said the same thing on the way home from the hospital"

-Birth client

"When we brought our baby home, I was overwhelmed and running on no sleep. Amy came in like a breath of fresh air. She helped with baby care, gave me tips that actually worked, and reminded me that taking care of myself was just as important. She folded laundry, made sure I ate, and gave me the confidence I needed as a new mom. Those early weeks could have felt so lonely, but instead I felt cared for and supported. Having Amy by my side made all the difference."
